Earlier this year, ALANYC donated an incredible package “The New York City Experience” to ALA’s Silent Auction, held during the Annual Conference and Exposition in National Harbor, Maryland in May.
Thank you to our Liberty Level Business Partner, the Kimberly Hotel, for donating hotel and entertainment for this package.
Here is what our silent auction winner had to say, “Everything was FANTASTIC. The Kimberly cruise was awesome. The Kimberly hotel, incredible. The Lion King was superb. Morton’s dinner was delicious!!!!! Truly, a great vacation and we sincerely appreciate all your help in planning our trip. All positives, no negatives and we look forward to another trip (in the future) to NYC.”

ALANYC Thanks our Troops!
On July 16, representatives of ALANYC joined the NYC Veterans Alliance, Blue Star Families and the Family Readiness Group of the NY Army National Guard’s 101 Signal Battalion, at T-Mobile’s signature store in Times Square. They came together to pack more than 300 care packages for New York troops deployed across the Middle East. Care packages included coffee, snacks and other useful items. The team took pleasure in sending personal notes to all the soldiers especially Lt. Elissa Ho, a member of the 101st Battalion and daughter-in-law of Lucy Shyti, ALANYC’s Communications Officer.
Special thanks to Lucy and her family for allowing ALANYC the privilege of participating in such an honorable event. We say Hats off to Lt. Ho, the 101st Battalion and all our troops who serve us gallantly throughout the world!
You’ve Got A Friend… (J. Taylor)
ALANYC Chapter Member, Lauren Fragola of Cowan Liebowitz & Latman reached out on the Community Board to gather info on accommodations. ALANYC “friends” stepped up and helped a family in need. Read Lauren’s inspiring post below.
Subject: A Story I Need to Share with You – 09/06/2018 11:29:35 AM
You might remember yesterday I asked for suggestions for affordable accommodations in NYC for a friend of the Chairman of our Firm. This was for a woman and her husband who have a 5-year-old terminally ill son with liver disease and who has now been diagnosed with epilepsy. They live in Pennsylvania and the child was brought to a doctor in Pennsylvania who prescribed medication for the epilepsy that adversely affected his liver disease. They found a doctor to bring the child to at NYU Langone Hospital and were unable to find an affordable place to stay the night before the doctor appointment.
I am very happy to tell you that a representative from our Business Partner, Rippe & Kingston (Law Firm Accounting Software), stepped up to the plate and donated his Hilton Points for this family for a two night stay at the Hilton.
This has literally brought tears to my eyes and chills down my spine. It has restored my faith in humanity in this crazy world we live in! This is literally a stranger helping a stranger in a time of need! Amazing!
I am forever thankful for kindness like this as I do believe that we are put on this earth to help each other and this is a perfect example of that which I needed to share.
I hope you all have a wonderful day!
Lauren
