ALA NYC Education Symposium

This year’s education symposium will be held on Oct 21, 8 am – 6 pm. The theme for this year’s Symposium is “Power, Through Connection”.   The intention of that theme is to highlight the strength or “Power” that we, as members of ALA, no matter the local chapter affiliation, have or can attain through our connection with other members.  The myriad of specialties, the depth and breadth of knowledge is seemingly boundless.  Through the NYC Discussion Board, any of us can connect with other members to ask a question, get advice, find another professional, or celebrate milestones.

The opportunities for connection at this year’s Symposium are plentiful.  From the Keynote speaker, Todd Henry, to the session offerings, to the labor law update, to interactions with Business Partners that stand ready to fully support our chapter and its members, those in attendance will leave the symposium feeling empowered and full of ideas that will help their firms.

Scheduled topics include:

Finance

“Processes You Can Implement to Drive Revenue and Become a Hero in Your Firm”
“E-Billing – Roundtable Discussion: How Does it Work? What are the Pros & Cons?”
“The Role of Strategic Pricing to Grow Revenue and Win Market Share”

HR

“Too Soon to Forget – Dealing with Early Onset Alzheimer’s in the Workplace”
“Full Circle: A Guide to Inclusive Practices Throughout the Employee Life Cycle”
“Dealing With the Elephant in the Room: Having the Difficult Conversations”

IT

“Cyber Security for Legal Services Industry: Before and After the Breach”
“The Bill & Phil Trunk Show 2016: The Latest and Greatest in Technology”
“Cyber Insurance – How Policy, Protocols & Insurance Work Together”
Operations/General Management

“Project Management – How to Lead Now”
