It’s hard to believe how time is flying and that I am in the middle of my second quarter of my year as President of ALANYC! The Chapter year had a fantastic start!! I would like to highlight that our Chapter won the 60 Seconds of Fame Video at the ALA Annual Conference & Expo in Grapevine, Texas. We also were awarded the 2019 President’s Award of Excellence. Congratulations to all who were involved in achieving both awards!!
The Board of Directors and our amazing volunteers have been busy planning away. Thanks to their hard work, we have had an exciting slate of professional development, community service and networking events such as the Members Only Luncheon, Let’s Move it for Autism Charity Walk, Inner Nurturing Wellness Lunch & Learn seminar, Labor Law updates with Dean Silverberg, the Summer Party & Volunteer Recognition event and the tour at National Museum of the American Indian. If you are reading this and have not yet participated in any number of professional development and networking events, here’s your chance to see what is coming up. Click here for a link to our Event’s Calendar. Keep your seat belts fastened! The summer will be over before we know it so be sure to enjoy the professional development and networking events!
I would like to thank each of our 2019-2020 Business Partners for their generosity. They are very supportive and involved in the success of our Chapter. They even showed us that they have talent at the Business Partner Appreciation event in May! Their expertise and financial support are key components to our Chapter’s success! Whenever possible, please acknowledge and thank our Business Partners for their support. Without their support, it would be impossible for ALANYC to provide its members with high quality professional development and networking opportunities at little to no cost.
Please remember that our website is a valuable tool that you should utilize to learn more about how our Chapter can assist you, find information about our Business Partners and where you can view and register for our upcoming events.
How are we doing so far? If you don’t see something you want to learn or become involved with, please tell us! We are very open to all ideas and value your suggestions!
On behalf of my entire Board of Directors, I would like to thank all of you who have volunteered your time, your ideas and your energies to making it all possible. It continues to be an honor to serve our incredible Chapter and I hope that you are enjoying the journey!
Thanks much!!
