What is the date and time?
This year’s Symposium is Thursday October 19, 2023 from 8:15 a.m. – 6:30 p.m.

What is the format for this year’s Symposium?
This year’s Symposium is in-person. 

Where is the venue?

(between 53rd & 54th Streets)

How do we gain access the day of the Symposium to the venue?
All registered guests will receive an emailed QR code two hours prior to the start time of the event. The QR code will be scanned at the turnstiles located at the 601 Lexington entrance, 53rd St entrance, or lower-level subway entrance. This code will be valid for the duration of the day.

Once through the security turnstiles, guests will take the down escalator to the lower level. The elevator lobby, on their right, will be divided into “evens & odds” options. Guests will choose the “evens” option, which is the first on their right. Etc.venues is located on the 14th floor, where the team will be ready and waiting for your arrival.

How do we send materials to the venue ahead of the Symposium?

How can I view course information?
Course information can be viewed on the sessions page.

Can I receive CLM credit?
Yes. The majority of Symposium courses will allow you to earn CLM credit.

What is the fee to attend?

ALANYC Regular, Hardship and Retired+ Members: Free to attend
ALANYC Member Guests: $75
Attorneys: $75
Non-Member: $100

Retired Members: $50

Secondary and other ALA Chapter Members: $75
Student Members: $30

Please note: A no-show fee of $100 will be charged to all registrants who do not cancel by October 16.

Do members have to register if the event is free?
Yes. All attendees must register in advance so that we can plan and make spacing arrangements.

How do I register?
Members, guests and speakers should register through the registration form.

As a speaker do I need to register?
Yes, you should register using the link above. 

Will food be provided?
Registration/Breakfast: 8:15 a.m.to 9:00 a.m.
Labor Law Updates Luncheon Session: 12:30 p.m. to 1:30 p.m.
Cocktail Reception: 5:30 p.m. to 6:30 p.m.

Will I be able to access the session recordings?
This is an in-person only event.

Will there be a Business Partner Exhibition Hall?
Yes. Attendees will have the opportunity to engage with our amazing Business Partners at their tables in the Exhibition Hall throughout the day, but more specifically between 1:30 p.m. – 2:15 p.m.  There will be an opportunity for games and prizes.
