THE OPPORTUNITY:

The Events Manager will be responsible for providing events, pro bono and local practice group support to the New York office. On a given day, you will be working collaboratively with all levels of personnel in NY and across the Firm to ensure optimal outcome of all events, including client-facing events.

THE DAY-TO-DAY:

  • Be responsible for external, and some internal New York events. Research venues and conduct site visits for top choices. Review, negotiate and approve contacts. Serve as on-site liaison to ensure events run smoothly and successfully.
  • Work closely with Conference Center Supervisor and Marketing & Business Development on shared events.
  • Serve as liaison for practice group meetings and events.
  • Identify opportunities to build practice group functionality.
  • Set events calendar while managing the budget appropriately.
  • Review invoices for accuracy and submit timely requests for payment. Prepare and manage budget for meetings and events.
  • Coordinate seasonal sports’ tickets, support office softball team, handle gifts for attorney promotions and holiday gifts for building staff, and order Seyfarth branded merchandise for events, as appropriate.
  • Act as the office’s Pro Bono Coordinator, encouraging participation.
  • Oversee charitable giving opportunities, as well as initiate and schedule NY office volunteer opportunities, and ensure appropriate participation.

YOU HAVE:

  • Ability to plan ahead, stay organized, and manage multiple events simultaneously.
  • Ability to design and produce creative and exciting, well-thought out events, invitations and announcements. Ability to work within a team setting, as well as independently.
  • Ability to work collaboratively with various people and personalities toward a common goal.
  • A Bachelor’s degree (or equivalent experience)
  • A minimum of 5-7 years as a corporate event planner (and marketing team member.)

SALARY RANGE:

The salary range for this role is $115,000 to $135,000 annually. This range is only applicable for jobs to be performed in New York. This is the lowest to highest salary we in good faith believe we would pay for this role at the time of this posting. An employee’s pay within the salary range will be based on numerous factors including, but not limited to, relevant education, qualifications, experience, skills, and business or organizational needs. This job is also eligible for an annual merit increase and bonus pay.
