About ALANYC

The mission of the New York City Chapter is to provide members with high-quality educational programs in legal management and timely information to empower them to perform their jobs more effectively and efficiently.

Diversity and Inclusion

One of ALA’s goals is to increase diversity in the Association, the legal management community and legal service organizations. The ALA Diversity & Inclusion Initiative is designed to increase awareness of and sensitivity to the differences among our workforce and to advance the concepts of inclusiveness and acceptance. To meet these goals ALA has created leadership panels, educational venues and programs. The New York City Chapter is committed to leading the way with diversity initiatives through leadership, education, advancement and development.

ALANYC Diversity Mission Statement
The New York City Chapter of the Association of Legal Administrators (ALANYC) is comprised of
a diverse group of administrative professionals, including Managing Partners, Executive
Directors, CFOs, Firm Administrators, Office Managers, and Facility Managers from private law
firms, corporate legal departments and government entities in and around the greater
New York City Area. New York City is called the melting pot and its residents reflect a rich diversity of cultural, religious, ethnic, sexual orientation and socio-economic backgrounds. ALANYC embraces this diversity and recognizes that there is great value in the differences of peoples.

ALANYC Diversity Initiative
In 2013, ALANYC launched the ALANYC Diversity Initiative – designed to increase awareness
of, and sensitivity to, the differences among our workforce and to advance the concepts of
inclusiveness and acceptance. Our Diversity & Inclusion Committee was formed
to lead this initiative. The mission of the Committee is to embrace changes by cultivating and
fostering a dynamic legal management workforce through leadership, awareness and
education. By doing so we hope to increase diversity in the association, in the legal
management community and in all legal service organizations to more accurately reflect the
communities we serve.
