Risk Strategies’ specialty Law Firm Practice includes dedicated broker/advocates and their expert teams who service our clients—including a number of AM Law 200 firms—collaboratively from multiple offices all across the country, e.g., New York, Chicago, Dallas, Kansas City, Nashville, and Orange County California. Seven senior Practice members are former attorneys with significant experience defending professional liability claims, including as the head of claims for a leading lawyers professional liability insurer.

As former lawyers ourselves, we acutely understand that the exposures incidental to the practice of law depend on, among other factors, the area of law; whether it is a specialty practice, a general practice, or a firm with myriad focused practices; geography; and the types of clients. Therefore, we structure insurance programs and risk management protocols appropriate for each firm’s unique mix of relevant components.

As a Vice President in Risk Strategies’ specialty Law Firm Practice, I provide insurance solutions for and counsel law firms on myriad risks inherent in their professional practices. Prior to my current role as broker and risk-management advisor, I spent 11+ years as a practicing attorney, litigating matters through to trial, handling complicated transactional negotiations, and counseling clients on myriad legal and business risks, including acting as Associate General Counsel for $350M+ company. At Risk Strategies, I regularly leverage that background to counsel clients on issues ranging from cost-conscious placement and enhancement of professional liability and other relevant insurance to those arising from particular contractual (e.g., Of Counsel agreements), transactional, matter-specific, litigation, and insurance coverage risks; by providing loss prevention and mitigation education; and through zealous claims advocacy.
